Hidden Valley Golf Club is a public golf course located in Escondido, California. The 18-hole “Hidden Valley” course at the Hidden Valley Golf Club facility features 6,906 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 73.8 and it has a slope rating of 127. Designed by Ted Robinson, Sr., the Hidden Valley golf course opened in 1960.
The course is open to the public year round with tee times available up to seven days in advance. It is well-suited for daily fee play as well as for outings and tournaments. Hidden Valley Golf Course is located in the beautiful and serene Sipi Falls region in Eastern Uganda.
The golf course is located at the foothills of Mount Elgon, which is an extinct volcano. The course provides a panoramic view of several peaks rising to 14,000 feet above sea level. The main peak Wagagai can easily be viewed from the golf course.
The golf course was built in 1929 and was designed by Sir John Hepburn-Gilbert a British Engineer who worked for the local colonial government. He used horse drawn graders to build the 18 hole golf course with rough grass tees and greens. The original greens were made of oil seed cake which is a local material obtained from the oil extraction process performed by the locals.
Over time, the original grass greens have been replaced with bent grass to enhance its playing characteristics. The course is 6,100 yards long with par 72.
