World Golf Village


The World Golf Village is a place where golfers and non-golfers alike can enjoy the scenic views and history of golf. Located in St. Augustine, Florida, this 2,200 acre village is home to the World Golf Hall of Fame, the King & Bear Course, Slammer & Squire Course and a 6-hole short course called The Oak Bridge Club.

World Golf Village is a golf resort in St. Johns County, Florida, United States, located between Jacksonville and St. Augustine. It is home to the World Golf Hall of Fame, the World Golf Village IMAX Theater, and two championship golf courses designed by Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer.

The project was announced in 1993 with plans for construction to begin in 1994. Ground was actually broken in 1995 and construction began on the Hall of Fame building that year.

In 1998, the IMAX theater opened and provided visitors with a state-of-the-art 3D film experience. The following year, the World Golf Foundation officially opened its Hall of Fame building.

The Hall of Fame includes a museum featuring a timeline of golf history; an 18-hole course designed by Jack Nicklaus known as “The King & Bear”; an exhibit that lists every major championship winner as well as biographies on each one; a tribute to women golfers; an exhibit dedicated to minority golfers; a gallery featuring famous holes from around the world; a theater; an awards gallery; an interactive putting green and chipping area for visitors; and much more.

World Golf Village is one of the premier golf communities in the world with its 2 signature courses. Today, we will be talking about Slammer & Squire Course. This course was designed by Robert Von Hagge and Bruce Devlin, and it was opened in 1998. The course has a length of 7244 yards from the longest tees for a par of 72. The slope rating on this course is 142, and the USGA rating is 75.4. It has 18 holes spread across 6,817 yards of golf for a par 72. It has 5 sets of tees for different skill levels.

The course rating is 73.3, and it has a slope rating of 137 on Bermuda grass. It’s an enjoyable course to play on if you want to improve your game or if you are just starting out as a golfer because of its diversity and ease in playing.
