So, you are looking for the top golf courses near Chicago. I have created a list of the top five golf courses in the area along with a brief description of each and a video to give you an idea of the course.

The first on my list is Olympia Fields Country Club which is located in Olympia Fields, Illinois. This is one of the premier golf courses in the nation and has hosted 5 major championships. The North Course is ranked as number 7 on Golf Digest’s 100 Greatest Public Courses. The South Course is also ranked by Golf Digest as number 34 on their greatest public courses list. The second course I would recommend checking out is Cog Hill Golf & Country Club which is located in Lemont, Illinois and was recently renovated by Rees Jones. This course was selected for multiple PGA Tour Championships and has been featured in various GOLF Magazine’s Top 100 lists throughout its history. 1. Medinah Country Club: This course has hosted the Ryder Cup and PGA Championship multiple times. It is located 30 miles from downtown Chicago and its tree-lined fairways make this course a challenge for all players.

2. Conway Farms Golf Club: This private club is located in Lake Forest, Illinois and was designed by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore in 1991. The course is 7,200 yards long, par 72 and features five sets of tees. It has been rated one of the best golf courses in Illinois by Golf Digest Magazine since it first opened.

3. Harborside International Golf Center: There are two 18 hole championship courses at this facility located on the south side of Chicago. This public course was designed by Roger Packard and opened in 1995. In 2002 it was named one of Golf Digest’s Best New Public Courses.

The following is a list of top rated public access golf courses in the Chicago area, as rated by Golf Digest. With one exception, all ratings are for the courses’ blue tees. All yardages are for the blue tees.

Glen Oak Country Club: This course is located in Glen Ellyn and it’s another beautiful place to go golfing with your friends or family. They also offer a variety of different events throughout the year that are fun for everyone.
