History

The Ross River Golf Course was originally founded by a group of locals who wanted to have a place to play golf and enjoy all that nature has to offer. In 1982, the course was officially opened for players and it quickly became popular for those who love to golf in remote areas. It has been in continuous operation since its opening. The course is known for being one of the few golf courses in North America that is completely free from pesticides and herbicides. The Riverside Golf Club is a private, member-owned club. The riverfront location and mature trees give the course a park-like setting, creating a peaceful atmosphere that is enhanced by the immaculately maintained fairways and greens.

The course is open to the public from mid-April through October, weather permitting. Tee time reservations are required for non-member play. We offer special rates for groups of 12 or more golfers.

Riverside Golf Club is located on Hamilton Road in Ross River, Yukon. To reach our course from Whitehorse, follow the South Klondike Highway south for about 145 km (90 miles), then turn left onto Hamilton Road. Follow Hamilton Road for approximately 1 km (.6 miles) to the course entrance on your left.

This is the first post to this blog, so let me introduce myself.

The name is Mike and I am an avid golfer that has been playing for many years. I have played many different courses around the country, but one that really shines above the rest is Riverside Golf Club in Ross River, Yukon.

This course is truly amazing. It can be played in about 1 hour and 15 minutes when there’s no wind. The only problem I have with that is because of it’s spectacular scenery, you won’t want to leave!

The views are amazing. You will see the snow-capped mountains in the distance while playing your round and the sunsets are awesome! The holes are challenging enough to keep any golfer interested, but not too hard for anyone to play.
