Keeping Your Game Sharp Opportunities to Play Somewhere Near You

If you’re like me, and love the game of golf, you know how important it is to keep your game sharp. You probably also know how hard it is to find time to play! Between work, travel, family activities and other sports, finding the time to practice your swing can seem impossible.

Luckily, there are some fun and challenging courses in unexpected places that may be much closer than you think. Even if you’re not able to get out of town, there are some great courses in local parks and public areas that can give you a quick fix when you need it.

In this blog, I hope to share tips on where to find a great course no matter where you are.

The Wildwood Golf Course is a local, 9 hole course located just five minutes from downtown Wenatchee. The course is nestled in the foothills of the North Cascades and has spectacular views of the mountains. The course offers an open front nine while the back is more narrow and tree lined. There are a few water hazards to watch out for on the back nine.

The Wildwood Golf Course is a locals favorite because it can be a quick round after work or on the weekends. You won’t get beat up by this course if you hit a few bad shots as there are not too many deep trouble spots. The staff are very friendly and helpful and want every golfer’s experience to be enjoyable even if they don’t shoot their best round.

This par 33, 3,000 yard layout will test your short game and accuracy more than your distance off of the tee. Although there are only 9 holes at this time, there are plans to expand to 18 holes in the near future.

The Great Outdoors.

This course has a great atmosphere, with the vast open space you can play in. The course is also good for practicing your short game, because of the tight green cutouts. A good place to come to if you have a lot of time and want to get in some practice.

In the past year we’ve been to a dozen golf courses at many locations. This is our review of Wildwood Golf Course.

My wife and I were invited to a friends wedding in Houston, Texas. We were in town for the week and decided to spend a day playing Wildwood Golf Course. The course was just a few miles from our hotel so it was convenient and a great way to spend a leisurely day while in Houston.

Wildwood Golf Course is a municipal facility that is owned and operated by the city of Houston Parks and Recreation Department. It’s located near George Bush Park, west of Houston along Westheimer Parkway near Barker Cypress Road. The golf course consists of 27 holes that are designed in three nines (Ranch, Lakes, Woods). Each nine offers its own unique layout and challenges for any type of golfer.

The greens on each hole were medium-sized but well maintained green with excellent speed and smoothness. The fairways were wide with some undulation but mostly flat with trees lining most holes. There are water hazards on the course but only come into play on about 3 holes (7th hole on Ranch, 2nd hole on Lakes, 5th hole on Woods). The sand traps had a lot of sand but needed

Wildwood Golf Course is open for play year round. However, the practice facilities are limited during the winter months. Wildwood Golf Course is an 18-hole regulation course that plays to a par of 70 and maximum distance of 5,215 yards. The course rating is 68.6 with a slope rating of 111.

Wildwood Golf Course is one the oldest golf courses in Western Pennsylvania dating back to the 1920s. In the last few years, all 18 greens have been renovated and an irrigation system has been installed to improve course conditions and make Wildwood one of the best playing public golf courses in the area.

The course has a unique layout with several dogleg holes, interesting green complexes and elevation changes throughout. The front nine plays through wooded surroundings while most of the back nine is located on open terrain along Deer Creek Reservoir.
