I love playing golf with my brother because it’s always a fun time to be playing with him even if we’re not playing well. It’s sad that my brother doesn’t play as much as I do because he’s always working on school work or studying for exams in college. I wish he had more time to play but we just don’t see eye to eye on that one so

While I do not have any children of my own, I do have a nephew and two nieces whom I enjoy watching play golf on their elementary school team. In fact, they are playing so well in their early years that I decided to look into what kind of clubs they were using. Following is the article that I found.

Anyone who has ever played golf knows that it is important to have appropriately sized clubs to get the best results. Too long of a shaft or too heavy of a head can make your swing less effective and result in a poor shot. The same is true if you are buying clubs for your young golfer. For this reason, most serious golfers are turning to kids golf clubs for their young players instead of just buying shorter clubs for adults.

The reason that kids golf clubs work so much better than shortened adult clubs is because of their weight and shaft length. Because most adult clubs are designed for players that are around 5 feet 8 inches tall, youth players would need to use a club with a 41 inch shaft to reach the ball effectively. However, this would require them to have more strength to swing the club effectively and hit the ball far enough downfield. Instead

So, my son came home with a flyer from school that had a link to an article that was talking about how far elementary school kids can hit a golf ball.

As I read the article, one of the questions they asked these kids was, “How far do you think you can hit the golf ball?”

One kid answered, “1000 yards.” Another kid said, “100 miles.” Another said, “1 billion miles.”

I thought to myself…wow…they are really thinking big!

The article then went on to describe how far these kids actually hit the golf ball. The longest drive by elementary school kids using a regulation sized golf ball and standard kids golf clubs was 125 yards. If you want to see the rest of the results check out this video.

The average elementary school kid hits a golf ball 77 yards. Most professional golfers hit their drives over 300 yards, but they are using different clubs.

I saw this article today on the Golf Channel website.

According to the article, an 11 year old boy used his own golf clubs to hit a golf ball 117 yards with a driver.
