I have a friend who is having golf lessons at James Robinson Golf and I have been along to watch. I was impressed with the modern facilities and my friend has improved with each lesson. We now play together each week.

I am very pleased with my new set of James Robinson irons. The cost is a little high but they are so worth it. I am hitting the ball further and straighter than ever before. My handicap has dropped 6 strokes since I started using them.

If you are looking for a set of irons that are easy to hit and perfect your game, then this is the set for you.

The James Robinson Memorial Golf Tournament Committee is pleased to announce that the 12th annual James Robinson Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the beautiful and challenging Woodlands Golf Course in Falmouth, Maine.

The committee is proud to continue this tournament that has become a popular tradition for area golfers and an important fundraising event for local charities. In the past 11 years, over $75,000 has been raised for a variety of local charities. This year’s beneficiary will be the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center.

Our tournament uses a Texas Scramble format, which means that all players on each team tee off and then select their best drive. All players then hit their second shot from that spot and again select their best shot. This process is repeated until the ball is holed out. The tournament is open to teams of four players (or three in the case of a family team), and is limited to 56 teams. The registration fee includes 18 holes with cart, lunch and prizes.

Golfers today, so many of them, are like their golf balls: wound too tight. They get off the tee and they’re all business, unyielding to the demands of the moment. Cold stares into the distance. A palpable hardness in their countenance. Golf is a game of delicacy and precision and imagination, but they treat it as if it were a military exercise.

They keep their eyes on the ball but fail to see it. The ball is not merely a ball; it is also a world. These dimpled spheres are like planets in miniature — miniature worlds of grass and dirt and trees and sky, which come together to create a larger world that we call golf course, which comes together with other things to create a still larger world that we call life.

The late James Robinson was one of those players who saw the ball as more than just a ball, whose eyes were open to the oneness of all things. This way of seeing is among the most important tools in golf — maybe the most important tool — yet we rarely hear about it from younger players like Justin Leonard or Phil Mickelson or David Duval or Tiger Woods.

Robinson was one of those players who had an old-fashioned appreciation for golf’s mysteries —
