Many people believe golf is one of the most difficult and frustrating sports to master, but I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be! By following our tips and tricks and dedicating yourself to the sport, you’ll be on your way to having a great swing in no time.
First off, before we can even start talking about the swing, we need to make sure we have a good stance. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent. Keep your head up but eyes looking down so you can keep track of where the ball is at all times.
This next tip might seem strange, but trust us it works: when holding the club, only have one hand on it. We know what you’re thinking – how can I even hit the ball if I don’t have both hands on the club? But by only holding the club with one hand and placing the other behind your back, you are making sure that you are extending your arms during your shot. The more extended your arms are, the longer and straighter your shot will be!
Get ready for this last tip – it’s a big one. Swinging too hard is one of the most
I am not a golf pro. I am just a regular guy who has only been playing golf for a little over a decade and has had to learn the same way as everyone else, through trial and error. The reason I am writing this blog is because I have learned that it is very difficult to get a perfect swing when you are new to golf, and you can save yourself a lot of time and frustration if you have someone tell you what they have learned along the way. This is exactly what I hope to do in my blog posts.
I will be posting tips on topics such as griping your club, stance and posture, swing, putting, chipping and pitching, sand play, and more. I will also be focusing on common mistakes that beginners make and how to fix them. If there are any other topics that you would like me to focus on please let me know by email.

Riverview Golf Course is a 9-hole course located on the banks of the Missouri River near Pella, Iowa. The course features rolling hills, narrow fairways, and large greens. It has been rated as one of the top nine-hole courses in the state by Golf Digest and was selected as one of the top ten new courses in America by Golf Magazine.
The course was built under the direction of Dr. Gary Wiren and is considered a “thinking man’s course” due to its unique design. For example, the first hole is a par four that can be reached in two shots for big hitters but requires more thoughtful play for amateurs.
Riverview received national attention in 2004 when it hosted ESPN’s live coverage of Tiger Woods winning his fifth Masters tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.
