Are There Any Records For Golf?
The term record in the context of golf means the lowest score that a player has ever scored at a course. It can be an 18 hole, 27 hole or 36 hole record.
At Evergreen Golf Course we have a number of records, some of which will never be beaten as golfers have moved away from the area.
As golf has been around for over 5 centuries, there are many records that have been set by players. Golfers who play the game on a regular basis, or even those playing golf at an amateur level, will often know of their own personal best scores. However, this blog is dedicated to those professional players who hold the lowest scores ever recorded at a chosen course.
Some of the top golf courses in the world can be found in the USA and Europe, but there are also some stunningly good courses further afield. One such example is located in Asia, and is known as The Els Club Malaysia. This course was designed by Ernie Els himself and was opened in March 2008. It spans across 200 acres of land and is located in Teluk Datai Bay.
Other examples closer to home include the Muirfield Village Golf Course, which was designed by Jack Nicklaus himself. This course lies just north east of Columbus Ohio in the United States and serves as an annual venue for The Memorial Tournament – one of America’s leading golfing events.
This is an interesting question that has been popping up more and more at my job. People have been asking me this lately, but I can’t find a definitive answer. In fact, no one knows the answer.
The first thing to do is check the USGA record book, which is kept by the USGA and maintained by over 1,000 volunteers. This is where we get our information on some of the top golfers in the world.
However, there are a lot of people who aren’t in this record book. For example, I’m not in it because I don’t know my current lowest score at any golf course. Also, if you’ve been playing golf for a few years and haven’t kept track of your scores, it’s hard to know what your lowest score is at each course you’ve played. The record book does not contain all the scores from every major golf course in the world, so there could be people who have lower scores than those in the record book.
I am interested in learning about evergreen golf course records because it would give me something to talk about with other golfers and maybe even help me get better at the game. A lot of times when I play with friends or family members they will ask me how many
The Evergreen Golf Course is a 9-hole course with a slope rating of 125. Although it is a 9 hole course, it is comprised of two separate 5 hole sections, which are joined by a single hole that is played twice: the Par 5, 445-yard 8th hole.
The Evergreen Golf Course was opened in 1925 and was designed by architect Ernest A. Oberholtzer. The course has a driving range and putting greens on site for players to warm up prior to their round.
The Evergreen Golf Course plays to a maximum distance of 3,195 yards for a par of 35. In general, the fairways are narrow and tree lined and the greens are small and relatively flat.
The Evergreen Golf Course is owned by the City of Edmonton and operated by the Edmonton Public Schools Foundation (EPSF). As such, all proceeds from green fees and cart rentals go directly to support EPSF programs that benefit all students in Edmonton Public Schools.
Originally, the Evergreen Golf Course was built in 1961 as a short 9 hole course. In 1987, the property was purchased by the City of Casper and plans were put into place to expand to an 18 hole facility. The new holes were built on land that was annexed into the City of Casper from Natrona County. The golf course was constructed through a partnership between the City of Casper, Natrona County and the State of Wyoming.
The first nine holes opened in 1988 and the second nine holes opened in 1989. The course underwent additional renovations in 2004-2005, which included new fairways, tees and greens on all 18 holes. In 2010, a new irrigation system was installed on the entire golf course.
Evergreen Golf Course has been host to many local, state and national tournaments throughout its history. The Wyoming State Amateur Championship was held at Evergreen in 1996 and 2009. In 1997, Evergreen hosted the Wyoming PGA Championship and also hosted it again in 2001 and 2011. The USGA Senior Open Qualifier was held at Evergreen in 1999 and 2006.
Evergreen Golf Course is a 18 hole semi-private course located in Evergreen, Alabama. The greens are bermuda grass and the fairways are bermuda grass.
