The JCB Golf Tournament is an annual golf tournament held in Japan. The event was first played in 1988 and has been co-sanctioned by the European Tour since 2002. It is named after the Japanese credit card company JCB.
Since it began, the tournament has moved between a number of courses in Japan, hosting at four courses over a total of seven times. In 2007, the event was played at Gotemba Golf Course for the first time, where it remains to this day. Gotemba Golf Course is located in Shizuoka Prefecture about 90 minutes from Tokyo.
The course opened in 1981 and is one of three courses designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay at the foot of Mount Fuji. Set in a valley with stunning views of Mount Fuji and shadowed by cedar trees, Gotemba Golf Course features undulating fairways lined with bunkers making it one of the toughest tests on the European Challenge Tour schedule.
