You may have noticed that 4 Tips to Improve Your Golf Game has been posting a lot of golf course reviews, especially in the greater Columbus, Ohio area. Now, we aren’t trying to stop posting golf tips or anything like that. We love improving our game as much as you do. However, we are branching out and trying something new!

We are starting a blog about golf courses around Columbus and other places we have played. We’re going to try and post about one course a week (or more if time allows). This will include reviews, pictures of the course and even scorecards from our rounds. While we are not going to be doing this full time yet (I wish!), we are going to try and get these done before the end of the week or on weekends when I can.

Recently I wrote an article on “How to Make a Perfect Golf Swing”. In that article I made a reference to the fact that there are 4 basic components necessary to make a perfect golf swing.

The 4 components are:

1) Grip

2) Posture

3) Alignment

4) Stance

The grip is the most important and can have a major influence on the outcome of your shot. If you grip the club correctly, you will have much better results, if not, you will struggle no matter how good your stance and alignment are. The grip should be light but firm. It should feel as if it were wrapped in velvet. You want just enough pressure in your grip to ensure that the club does not slip out of your hands but not so tight that it tires out your forearms leading to early fatigue. (This happens more often than people think). The V’s formed by your thumbs and forefingers on both hands should point between your right ear (right handed golfer) and right shoulder at address and impact. A good rule of thumb is, if you cannot hold a pencil between these V’s at either address or impact then you probably need to change them.
