Opened in 1927, Riverside was designed by local architect Robert L. Furgol and has hosted many tournaments including the Broward Amateur Championship and the Florida State Open. The course underwent a thorough renovation in 2009 when it was closed for a year while the Bermuda greens were replaced with Tif-Eagle Bermuda grass that tolerates heavy saltwater irrigation.
