The Stableford System

Stableford turns golf into a points game. On each hole your net score — gross strokes minus the handicap strokes you receive — is compared to par, and you bank points: two for a net par, climbing for birdies and eagles, and nothing for a net double bogey or worse. The highest total wins.

Because a bad hole simply scores zero rather than a runaway number, Stableford keeps rounds fun and quick and rewards you for going for it. Enter your card above to see exactly where the points came from.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

How does Stableford scoring work?

You earn points on each hole based on your net score relative to par: a net par is 2 points, a net birdie 3, a net eagle 4, and a net bogey 1. A net double bogey or worse scores zero — so a blow-up hole costs you a couple of points rather than wrecking your card.

What are 'strokes received'?

These are the handicap strokes you get on a hole, allocated by the hole's stroke index and your course handicap. Subtracting them from your gross strokes gives your net score for that hole, which is what Stableford points are based on.

Why do golfers like Stableford?

Because one disaster hole can't ruin the whole round — the worst you score is zero on a hole. That keeps play moving (you can pick up once you can't score), rewards aggressive play, and makes for a friendlier, faster format than medal stroke play.
