The First Tee is a national organization with a local chapter here in Richmond, Virginia. It’s a youth development program that uses the game of golf to teach life skills and healthy habits to young people.
Twin Lakes Golf Course has been involved with The First Tee for several years and offers lessons as well as access to our greens and fairways for these young golfers. Recently, we decided to sponsor four of the kids in the program. For several weeks we worked with these four students on their putting, chipping, and driving and they showed us what they can do! We met at a local driving range where they showed off their skills.

Twin Lakes Golf Course offers a quality golf experience at an affordable price. Twin Lakes has been rated one of the top municipal courses in the state by the North Carolina Golf Panel. It is a USGA rated course and has hosted the US Open Qualifier and NC Open Qualifier.
Twin Lakes is daily fee course with no membership required. Green fees are $33 for 18 holes and $19 for 9 holes Monday – Thursday. After 3:00 pm rates are $25 for 18 holes and $15 for 9 holes Monday – Friday. Weekends and holidays rates are $39 for 18 holes, $25 for 9 holes, and $22 after 2:00 pm.
The First Tee of Greater Charlotte offers The First Tee Golf Experience at Twin Lakes in April, May, June, July, August and September. This program helps introduce golf to kids ages 7-17. This program is open to all kids regardless of their physical or mental abilities or financial situation.
Long before the First Tee program was started, the Twin Lakes Golf Course was established in 1922. So with that in mind, we have to wonder how many kids ever came here to play golf. Did any of them grow up to become professional golfers? We would love to know. We do know that there is a strong connection between this course and the kids that come here to practice golf. And it’s not just on the links either.
So when you play golf at Twin Lakes Golf Course, you will find that it is an incredibly beautiful course to play on. The first thing that you notice is the huge sand trap that greets you at the front of the course. This is one of the most challenging holes on the entire course, so if you are looking for a hole where you can use your wedge irons, this is one hole that you should definitely try.
But there are also a lot of other great holes on this course as well. One of the most interesting things about this course is that it was actually built by a famous golfer named Arnold Palmer. He is known for being one of the best golfers in history and he has won many tournaments all over the world.
Because golf is a game of tradition, it is often thought of as an elitist sport. There are some who would argue that golf is anything but that. Golf, as a sport has grown in popularity over the years and today more than ever there are efforts to introduce more and more people to the sport.
1 of those efforts, The First Tee of Denver and Twin Lakes Golf Course teamed up to offer free golf lessons to kids ages 7-17. Each lesson focused on the fundamentals of putting, chipping & driving. A great group of young athletes who were excited to learn a new sport!
The First Tee National School Program was launched in 2006 at 60 elementary schools in 5 cities. The program has since grown to nearly 1,200 elementary schools across the country reaching more than 180,000 children each year and growing!
Welcome to Twin Lakes Golf Course, a 9-hole executive course located in Federal Way, WA.
Designed by Don and Doug Douglas, Twin Lakes Golf Course opened in 1992. This challenging 2,541 yard, par 34 course offers some of the most beautiful scenery in the Northwest. Our course carries a rating of 67.3 with a slope of 116 from the white tees and 69.2/107 from the red tees (Ladies). We have three sets of tees at each hole: red, white and blue (men’s) to challenge all playing levels.
The last few years the course has undergone some major changes thanks to our new ownership group that purchased Twin Lakes Golf Course on June 1, 2012. Since then we have added new equipment including Toro Greens Mowers for our greens and fairways, back-up greens mowers, utility carts and a fleet of Srixon rental clubs to name a few. These updates were just the beginning as we are now gearing up for another exciting year!
