The 19th century saw the first great changes to the golf club. Hickory wood was used to create a shaft that would be flexible while also allowing the player to control it. This was also the era in which irons were first introduced into play.
Today, golf clubs have come a long way from their original design as most are made of steel and titanium. The woods are designed for speed and feature an aerodynamic head (compared to their more old fashioned counterparts). The irons, on the other hand, are designed for accuracy and ball control with deeper groves in the face of the club.
For many years, these clubs were extremely expensive and difficult to find. However, with improvements in technology, they are becoming more affordable while still providing maximum benefit to those who use them. It can still be difficult to find clubs that suit your needs perfectly so it is important that you do your research before making any purchases.
The history of the golf club is one of the most interesting parts of the history of the game. Clubs have come a long way from their origins, with many different features and styles that have been used throughout time.
The first steel club was invented in 1845 by John Henry Taylor in England. The first iron club was invented in 1849 by the same company. The first iron club was made by a company called the “New York Club Co.” The first iron club was a very simple design, with no heel or toe weight, but it was very popular because it was cheaper than other clubs. In 1866, the U.S. Golf Association (USGA) established a rule that all clubs must be made of steel or iron. In 1887, the USGA added a rule that all clubs must be made of steel or iron, with no exceptions.
The history of golf clubs has been evolving ever since they were first introduced into the game in the early 1800s. The early clubs had no heads and were made from wood, which was not very durable and could easily break if hit too hard. Soon after this time, metal heads were added to make them more durable and longer lasting. As time went on, new types of material were introduced and these

Golf clubs are the most important piece of equipment in the game of golf. Golf clubs have been around for hundreds of years, and they have changed a lot since they were first invented. Since the first golf club was invented, there has been a progression to make them better and easier to use.
The first golf club was made out of wood. The head of the club was a solid piece of wood with a handle that was used to hit the ball. Some people believe that golf clubs were made out of wood because it was easier to find wood than metal at the time. Other people think that it was because golf clubs needed to be light. It would be very hard to hit a ball with a heavy club.
Over time, people realized that it would be better if the head of the club wasn’t one solid piece of wood. They started making heads out of multiple pieces so that it would be more flexible when hitting the ball. This was also when people started playing around with different shapes for their heads, like rounded or flat on top instead of square shaped.
While some golfers still use wooden clubs today, almost everyone uses metal ones instead because they are lighter weight and more durable than wooden ones.
Golf clubs have changed a lot since the first club was created in the 15th century. There were only four clubs made of wood at that time and the shafts were made of ash wood. Later, steel shafts came into existence. The head was made separately and they were attached with glue. Nowadays, the shaft is made of graphite or carbon fiber and it is glued to the metal head.
Hickory was used to make shafts before steel shafts came into existence. Hickory shafts were stronger than steel and lasted longer as well. They had one problem though: they would break suddenly at any point in time without any warning. Not very practical for a game! Steel shafts solved this problem but they had a different issue: they would bend when hit too hard, which is quite often in golf!
One of the most important pieces of equipment to have when playing golf is the club. There are various types of clubs, and each one has a different use. It is important that you know how to use them properly and what they are used for.
The first set of golf clubs was made in Scotland by Tommy Armour. These were made at his factory in St. Andrews, Scotland. They were called “St. Andrews” because they were designed to be played at that course. They were the first set of clubs to be made in America, and they are still being used today by many players including Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer.
The next set of clubs that were made was called “Golf Central.” They were created by a group of businessmen who wanted to create a central place for all the golfers to meet and play their games. This was a very popular idea at the time because it meant that every golfer could play their favorite game without having to drive long distances to do so. They also had the advantage that it would keep all of the golfers together so there would not be any disagreements between them over which club was best for their game or even if they should buy one or not!
Hickory was used for the shafts of golf clubs from the mid-1800s until the first half of the 20th century. The type of wood used in the shaft was similar to that used in making hockey sticks, and in fact the two sports developed together, with Scottish shepherds using hickory imported from Nova Scotia for their crooks and then for club shafts.
The use of hickory in club making declined after World War I when steel shafts were developed. The steel shafts were both lighter and stronger, allowing players to hit longer shots. Steel shafts were also more durable than hickory, which broke easily under repeated use.
As steel began to replace hickory as the main material in golf clubs, manufacturers experimented with other woods such as persimmon and maple. Persimmon works well for club heads, but it is not suited for use in golf shafts. Maple has been used for club shafts since around 1920, but it is not nearly as popular as steel or graphite.
