Welcome to 9 Holes of Heaven.
Highlighting the countries best kept secrets in golf course design, 9 Holes of Heaven takes the reader around the greatest 9-hole courses the globe has to offer.
The blog is written by Ian McDonald who has been playing for over a decade and has watched the golf courses in his local area improve dramatically over this time.
I’m a golfer who plays on courses with 9 holes, of which there are many in the United States and around the world. I will be posting reviews, photos and tips from my experiences at these courses.
I’ve played a few of the top 100 public golf courses in the US, but I prefer to play at your average 9 hole par 3 course that’s close to where I live. Usually, it’s not about distance or getting my score down, but just having fun and enjoying nature.
I enjoy playing for fun and not worrying about my score. Of course, there are times when I do want to shoot my best score ever and feel like a pro, but those are rare occasions.
My father introduced me to golf a couple of years ago. I have always loved the outdoors and this sport introduced me to yet another way of spending time outside with my family. I love the challenges that each course presents and the fact that no matter how long you play golf, there is always room to grow.
I only started playing 9 hole courses and now can’t imagine playing anything else. This blog will be a collection of all the 9 hole courses I play in around my area. I will include tips, tricks, and things to do in the area for those travelling with non-golfers.
The 9 hole golf course near me is where I go to relax. The fresh air, the birds chirping, the feel of the club head in my hands… ahhh.
I have a long time love affair with golf and have played at many different courses, but I always go back to this one. It’s like an old friend.
It’s not the most beautiful course in the world and it’s certainly not challenging, but it’s where I feel at home.
You see, you can’t play at a golf course that you don’t like. You’ll never want to be there and you’ll never want to play there again.
This course is welcoming to all levels of players and there is always something new to discover on each round that you play.
A 9 hole golf course is a great way to spend the afternoon. It’s challenging enough to be fun, but not so much that it becomes frustrating. Plus, you don’t have to spend hours there to get in a round. If you’re new to the game or have been away for a while, here are a few tips on how to make your first experience on a nine hole course as enjoyable as possible.
Don’t try to play all nine holes in one go: You’ll likely get tired or lose interest before long and then you’re stuck with an incomplete round. Play three holes at a time and then move on. This also gives you more time to explore the rest of the area if you’re playing somewhere new!
Play with someone else who knows what they’re doing: There’s nothing worse than being stuck on an empty course when no one else is around except for some random stranger who doesn’t know anything about golf either…so make sure that person is an experienced player (or at least familiar with basic rules) before starting off!
Focus on having fun instead of trying too hard: It can be tempting to go all out from the start, but this just leads people into frustration and disappointment when they inevitably don’t hit their mark every single time
I’ve been playing a lot of golf lately, nearly every day. About a month ago I joined a local golf club and it has been pretty awesome. They have around 9 holes and I play all of them.
